Vaccine policy idling in legislature as Guv digs in

Days after Gov. Maura Healey splintered the commonwealth’s immunization policies from the federal government, House Speaker Ron Mariano suggested vaccine misinformation could be spreading in his branch.

Following a leadership meeting Monday afternoon, the News Service asked Mariano and Senate President Karen Spilka whether they support pending legislation that would scrap religious exemptions for the vaccines required in schools.

“There’s so much misinformation about vaccines that we have to do a better job of educating our members,” Mariano said.
